Settle the sizing question before a shopper abandons the cart
Most questions in a fashion store come just before checkout: does this run small, what is the fabric, how do I send it back if it does not fit. GetFoxChat answers from your size guide, product and returns pages, and passes anything about a placed order to your customer service team.
What shoppers ask on a online fashion store website
These are the questions shoppers typically type into a online fashion store website. Next to each: which of your pages answers it, and what the operator does with it.
“Does this dress run small or true to size?”
Answered from: the product page and your size guide. Repeats any fit note on the product page and explains how to measure using the size guide. It does not guess a fit the pages do not describe.
“I'm between a medium and a large, which should I get?”
Answered from: your size guide. Points to the size guide's advice on choosing between sizes and highlights the measurement chart if the shopper is on that page.
“What's this jacket made of?”
Answered from: the product page. Gives the fabric composition listed on the product page.
“Can I exchange for a different size?”
Answered from: your returns and exchanges page. Explains the exchange steps the page describes and links to it.
“Can I return sale items?”
Answered from: your returns and exchanges page. Repeats what the returns page says about sale or final-sale items, without making exceptions.
“Do you ship internationally, and will I pay customs fees?”
Answered from: your delivery page. Shares the shipping regions and customs information the delivery page gives. If the shopper's country is not mentioned, it says so and offers a person.
“Can I put this wool jumper in the washing machine?”
Answered from: your care guide and the product page. Repeats the care instructions on the product page or care guide.
“Will this style come back in my size?”
Answered from: no page can answer this. Says it cannot see stock levels or restock plans and points to any back-in-stock option shown on the product page, or passes the question on.
“Are your clothes made from recycled materials?”
Answered from: your sustainability page. Repeats what the brand says on its sustainability page and adds nothing beyond it.
“Where is my order?”
Answered from: no page can answer this. Explains that it cannot look up orders, points to any tracking help on the delivery page and offers the Talk to a person button.
Routing example: sending a visitor to the right page
Visitor
“I love these trousers but I'm always stuck between sizes and I'm abroad. If they don't fit, can I send them back easily?”
Operator
“Your size guide explains how to measure and what to do when you fall between two sizes, and the product page may have a fit note for these trousers. How returns work from outside the home country is set out on the returns and exchanges page, and the delivery page explains international shipping. If your country is not covered there, I can pass your question to customer service.”
Page it points to
Size guide yourwebsite.com/size-guide
It tackles the sizing worry first and then points to the store's own return and delivery terms without promising anything they do not say. When that link is on the page the visitor is already looking at, the operator highlights it.
The pages that let it answer
The operator answers only from your own public pages, so these are the pages worth having on a online fashion store website:
| Page | Typical address | What it lets the operator answer |
|---|---|---|
| Size guide | /size-guide | Lets the operator explain how your sizes are measured and how to choose between two sizes. |
| Product pages | /products | Gives it the fabric, fit notes and care instructions written for each item. |
| Delivery | /delivery | Answers questions about delivery options, regions you ship to and customs, as your page describes. |
| Returns and exchanges | /returns | Covers how to return or exchange an item and which items are excluded. |
| Care guide | /care | Answers how to wash or store garments without shrinking or fading. |
| Sustainability | /sustainability | Lets it repeat what your brand says about materials and production, without adding claims. |
When it passes the conversation to you
- A shopper wants to change or cancel an order that has already been placed.
- Someone received a faulty, damaged or wrong item.
- A customer asks about a return they already sent back.
- A wholesale buyer or stylist asks about a partnership.
It will not look up orders, process returns or take payments. It recommends only what product pages say and does not invent fit advice.
What the operator does on every page
- It reads your public pages and answers from what they say, in the language the visitor writes in.
- It points to the page that has the answer, and highlights the link when it is on the page the visitor is viewing.
- When your pages don't have the answer, it says so and offers Talk to a person. Your team replies from the GetFoxChat inbox; when nobody is online, the visitor can leave an email address.
- Asked whether it is a person, it says it is an AI assistant.
- You see what visitors asked and which questions your pages didn't answer.
Putting it on your site is one line of code: install guides for every platform.
