Add GetFoxChat to your BigCommerce site
Add the snippet as a new script in Storefront, Script Manager, with Placement set to Footer and Location set to Storefront pages. The line loads the GetFoxChat chat bubble on every page, and the operator behind it answers your visitors from your own public pages.
The line to add
Yours has your own site ID in place of YOUR_SITE_ID.

Add GetFoxChat to BigCommerce, step by step
- In GetFoxChat, open the install step for your site and copy your snippet. It already has your site ID in it. No account yet? Create one free.
- In the BigCommerce control panel, go to Storefront, then Script Manager. On Multi-Storefront, open it from Channel Manager instead. source
- Click Create a Script and enter a Script name, for example GetFoxChat. source
- Set Placement to Footer. source
- Set Location to Storefront pages, which covers all pages except checkout and order confirmation. source
- Set Script category to Functional, the category for live chat. source
- Set Script Type to enter the script manually, and paste the full GetFoxChat line including its script tags. source
- Click Save. source
- Back in GetFoxChat, press Check my site. The chat switches on once GetFoxChat finds the snippet on your live pages.

BigCommerce gotchas
- Scripts take about 20 seconds to reach the storefront cache, so wait a moment before checking. source
- Choosing All pages also puts the script on checkout, and payment pages need an integrity hash for each script. Storefront pages avoids that. source
- With the cookie consent banner on, shoppers who opt out of Functional scripts will not see the chat. source
- Script Manager rejects code without script tags, so paste the whole line, not just the URL. source
Removing it later
In Storefront, Script Manager, click the Action icon next to the GetFoxChat script, select Delete, and confirm.
The Help Center article is rendered by JavaScript (static fetch and WebFetch both return an empty shell), so its claims were read from the fully rendered page in a browser on 2026-09-30 and are marked webfetch. The two docs.bigcommerce.com claims pass the static fetch. The legacy Footer Scripts field still works but BigCommerce recommends Script Manager.
