Add GetFoxChat to your Squarespace site

As of November 3, 2026, to add GetFoxChat to Squarespace, paste the snippet into the Footer field of the Code Injection panel, which Squarespace adds before the closing </body> tag on every page (Squarespace's own guide, September 30, 2026). The video on this page shows GetFoxChat installed, tested and running in 4 minutes (watch it).

The line to add

Yours has your own site ID in place of YOUR_SITE_ID.

How do you add GetFoxChat to Squarespace, step by step?

In GetFoxChat, open the install step for your site and copy your snippet. It already has your site ID in it. No account yet? Create one free.
Log in and open your site's Pages panel. source
Click Custom Code at the bottom of the Pages panel, then Code Injection. On a version 7.0 site, click Website Tools to find these options. source
Paste the snippet into the Footer field. source
Click Save. source
Open your site in a private or incognito window to check the chat bubble appears. source
Back in GetFoxChat, press Check my site. The chat switches on once GetFoxChat finds the snippet on your live pages.

Squarespace gotchas

Checkout pages do not run custom code, so the chat will not show there. source
If Squarespace warns that injected code is breaking the site preview, click Disable Scripts in Preview. This only affects your editor; visitors still get the chat. source
Code injection does not appear on Index landing pages. source

How do you remove it later?

Open Custom Code, then Code Injection, delete the GetFoxChat line from the Footer field and click Save.
